Charlotte Artist Stefan Duncan’s painting, “The Dove House,” sold for $10,000 on April 21st, 2007, at the sixth annual fundraising event of the Dove House Children’s Advocacy, "An Evening for Dove House".

 ..This year’s event was held at the Charles Mack Citizens Center in downtown Mooresville, featured fabulous dining, dancing, celebrity entertainment, and exciting Silent and Live auctions.  Larry Sprinkle returned (local weather man) as everybody's favorite Celebrity Auctioneer!

 Stefan is creator of the art style of Impressionism called, “Squigglism,” and was dubbed “The American Van Gogh,” by the Van Gogh Gallery. He is represented in galleries and establishments around the country and sells several hundred paintings a year.  His website is www.stefanduncangallery.com  where a list of the locations, solo exhibits, and other events are listed.

 The painting was purchased by the “Forward Air Corporation Performance Fire Protection LLC.” The painting will be permanently mounted in the foyer of the new Dove House in Statesville.

  “Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center simply could not exist without the overwhelming support, financial and other, that this community has shown to us,” said Brenda Deal executive director of DHCAC. “ We are thrilled to add Stefan Duncan, “The American Van Gogh” and an all-around beautiful person, to our Dove House family of supporters.  His work is simply fabulous, but more so is his spirit of generosity and his compassion for others.  God has blessed Dove House once again in our new friend Stefan!”

 Dove House Children's Advocacy Center is a non-profit organization that provides a safe and child-friendly facility from which a multidisciplinary team works together to support the investigation, intervention and successful prosecution of reported child sexual abuse cases in Iredell and Alexander Counties, North Carolina.

 Another fundraiser will be at The Rockin’ Ribfeast will be held in Troutman, NC June 1 -3 ,at the Iredell County Fairgrounds,  as a fundraiser for the Dove House.  Duncan will be painting on a stage and selling paintings of which a percent of the sales go to the Dove House

Stefan donates several paintings a year to fundraisers.  Recently he has donated to the March of Dimes, AIDS benefit, The Dove House for sexually abused children, the Humane Society for Animals, Cancer victims.  A painting titled the "Dove House" sold for $10,000.00 at the Dove House Fundraiser in Mooresville, N.C.
